A New Rhythm for My Blog and Podcast

I have been carrying a quiet tension for a while now, and I think it is time to name it.
For a long time, I have treated the blog like something that needed a steady weekly rhythm. I would look at the calendar, see a blank space, and start asking, “What can I write this week?” Sometimes the answer came easily. Other times, I found myself reaching for content just because it felt like I was supposed to show up.
Lately, that has not felt healthy or honest.
This summer has been difficult. I have been dealing with personal health issues, and the weight of trying to keep up with everything has caught up with me. I can feel the edges of burnout. Not in a dramatic way, but in the quiet way that makes even good things feel heavy.
So I am making a change.
Going forward, I want this blog to have a more relaxed rhythm. I am not leaving it behind. I am not disappearing. I am simply giving myself permission to post when I actually have something to say.

I do not want to create just to fill space
There is a difference between consistency and pressure.
Consistency can be beautiful. It can help build trust. It can create a dependable rhythm. It can keep a writer, creator, or podcaster grounded when motivation starts to fade.
But pressure is something else.
Pressure says, “You have to post, even if you are empty.”
Pressure says, “Find something, anything, and make it work.”
Pressure says, “If you slow down, people will forget you.”
I do not want to create from that place anymore.
For me, writing has always mattered most when it comes from a real place. A thought I cannot shake. A lesson I am still learning. A story I feel led to share. A message that keeps showing up in my heart until I finally sit down and put words to it.
That is the kind of writing I want to offer here.
I would rather share fewer posts that feel honest than more posts that feel forced. I would rather wait until I have something meaningful to say than train myself to produce just because the schedule says it is time.
That does not mean I no longer value this space. I do. Deeply.
This blog has been a place where I can process, encourage, teach, reflect, and connect. It still matters to me. But I am learning that something can matter and still need a gentler rhythm.
The goal is not to quit. The goal is to continue in a way that is sustainable.
This summer has changed my capacity
I wish I could say this change is only about strategy. It would be easier to frame it that way. Cleaner, maybe.
But the truth is more personal than that.
This summer has been hard because of health issues, and I have had to face the limits of my energy in a new way. When your body needs attention, everything else shifts. Plans take more effort. Simple tasks can feel bigger than they should. The things you love can start to feel like obligations if you do not make room to breathe.
I have tried to keep pushing through. I have tried to keep everything moving. I have tried to stay on top of the blog, the podcast, ideas, planning, and the everyday parts of life.
But there comes a point when pushing through is no longer wise.
Burnout does not always arrive all at once. Sometimes it builds slowly. A little less excitement here. A little more fatigue there. A growing sense that your pace is costing you more than you want to admit.
That is where I have found myself lately.
And I am learning that listening to those signs is not weakness. It is care. It is wisdom. It is choosing not to run myself into the ground just to maintain a pattern that no longer fits this season.
I still love creating. I still care about the work. I still have things I want to share.
But I need to make room for healing, rest, and a better use of my energy.

The podcast is becoming a bigger focus
Starting in August, I am going to put a lot more focus on the podcast.
This is not a small shift. The podcast is moving into a video format, and that means it will need more time, attention, planning, and resources. Audio already takes work, but video adds another layer. There is more to prepare, more to think through, and more energy required to make each episode feel thoughtful and clear.
I am excited about that.
I really am.
The podcast has become an important part of how I share what is on my heart. There is something powerful about speaking a message out loud. Tone, pauses, facial expression, and presence can carry things that written words sometimes cannot.
A video format gives the podcast a chance to feel more personal and more connected. It allows the message to meet people in a different way. I want to give that the attention it deserves.
But I also know I cannot give full energy to everything at the same time.
If I try to keep the blog on a strict schedule while also growing the podcast into video, I will end up stretched thin. And when I am stretched thin, the quality of the work suffers. More than that, my health and peace suffer.
So this new rhythm is partly about focus.
I am choosing to put my strongest creative energy toward the podcast in this next season. That does not mean the blog becomes unimportant. It means the blog will support the larger message rather than compete with it.
Some weeks, the podcast may be the main place I share. Other times, a message may need to live here too.
I want to let each message find the right form.
The blog will still have a purpose
This is not a goodbye post.
I want to be clear about that because I know a change in rhythm can sound like a slow exit. That is not what I mean.
The blog is staying. It will simply become more intentional.
If I have a message that feels better written out, I will write it here. If a podcast episode feels like it would serve people well in written form too, I may turn that same message into a blog post. If something is on my heart and needs space beyond the episode, this is where I can give it room.
That feels right to me.
Instead of constantly asking, “What should I post this week?” I want to ask better questions.
What has been weighing on my heart?
What do I feel ready to share?
What would be helpful, honest, or encouraging?
Does this message belong on the podcast, the blog, or both?
Do I have the capacity to create this well?
Those questions feel more human. They make space for wisdom. They also protect the work from becoming rushed or hollow.
A blog does not have to be weekly to be meaningful. A podcast does not have to carry every message alone. A creative rhythm does not have to look the same forever to still be faithful.
Sometimes the healthiest thing is to adjust.
This blog will now be a place for messages that need to be written, not a place I force myself to fill.

I am giving myself permission to slow down
Permission can be a strange thing.
Sometimes we wait for someone else to give it to us. We wait for a sign, an open door, a clear explanation that makes it acceptable to rest or shift or change direction.
But sometimes we have to give ourselves permission.
I am giving myself permission to stop chasing a weekly content schedule just because I once thought I had to. I am giving myself permission to honor what my body and mind have been telling me. I am giving myself permission to focus on the podcast without feeling guilty about posting less here.
That is not always easy.
There is a part of me that still feels the pull to keep up. To keep producing. To stay visible. To make sure there is always something new.
But I do not want visibility at the cost of peace.
I do not want to train myself to ignore my limits.
I do not want to build something meaningful in a way that slowly drains the meaning out of it.
So I am choosing a slower pace on purpose.
This may mean there are stretches of quiet on the blog. It may mean a post appears when a podcast message feels like it needs a written home. It may mean some months have several posts and others have very few.
That kind of rhythm might look less predictable from the outside, but it feels more honest from the inside.
What you can expect going forward
Here is what this new rhythm will probably look like.
The podcast will be the main focus starting in August. Since it is moving into video, I will be spending more time preparing episodes, recording, editing, and making sure the message is shared well.
The blog will become more flexible. I will post when there is something I genuinely want or need to say. I will not be writing just to meet a weekly deadline.
Some blog posts may connect directly to podcast episodes. If a message comes through on the podcast and feels like it should also be available in writing, I will share it here too. That way, the same message can reach people who prefer to read or who want to return to the words later.
Other posts may stand on their own. Sometimes writing gives a message a different kind of shape. If that happens, I will follow it.
What I do not want to do is keep creating from a place of panic or pressure.
I want this space to feel steady, even if it is not constant. I want it to feel honest. I want it to reflect what is actually on my heart, not what I came up with because a calendar box was empty.
That is the new rhythm I am hoping for.
I still believe in showing up
Slowing down does not mean stepping away from commitment.
I still believe in showing up. I still believe in doing the work. I still believe in sharing messages with care and consistency where it matters.
But I am learning that showing up can look different in different seasons.
Sometimes showing up means publishing every week.
Sometimes it means preparing quietly.
Sometimes it means choosing one main project so you can do it well.
Sometimes it means resting enough to return with a clearer mind and a softer heart.
This season is asking me to show up differently.
The podcast needs my focus. My health needs my attention. My creativity needs a little breathing room. And this blog needs to become a place of sincerity again, not another source of pressure.
That feels like the right kind of stewardship for now.
Not perfect. Not polished. Just honest.

Thank you for making room for this change
If you have been reading here for a while, thank you.
Thank you for giving these words your time. Thank you for allowing this space to grow and shift. Thank you for understanding that behind every post, episode, and message is a real person with real limits.
I am grateful for the chance to share what I am learning, even when the lesson is simply that I need to slow down.
I do not know exactly what the coming months will look like. I know the podcast will take more of my attention. I know the blog will be quieter than it has been. I know I will still write when something feels ready to be shared.
And honestly, that feels like enough.
This is the new rhythm.
Less forced. More focused. More honest. More sustainable.
I am trusting that the messages that need to be shared will still find their way out, whether through the podcast, the blog, or both. And I am trusting that a slower pace can still be a faithful one.
